Director General of Seiyun Explores Areas of Collaboration with Peace Paths Foundation to Implement Training Workshops on Security and Peace.

The Director General of Seiyun District, Mr. Khaled Saleh Balfas, met today to discuss potential areas of collaboration with Peace Paths Foundation (PPF) to implement training workshops on security and peace. These workshops fall under the Tarabot Project, which aims to enhance community participation in peacebuilding and security for law enforcement officers and community committees. The project is funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Small Grants Mechanism of the UN Peace Support Facility (PSF).

During the meeting, the Director General and Obaid Waked, the Executive Director of Peace Paths Foundation, reviewed the project’s objectives, which focus on strengthening cooperation between local authorities, community committees, and law enforcement agencies to contribute to a safe and stable environment. They also discussed ways to leverage the training programs to enhance the efficiency of relevant stakeholders, thereby reinforcing their role in maintaining security and stability in the district.

Balfas praised Peace Paths Foundation’s efforts in supporting community capacity-building projects and promoting social cohesion. He emphasized the importance of these workshops in building trust between the community and security agencies, noting the local authority’s support for capacity-building initiatives as a cornerstone for conflict resolution.

The meeting was attended by Captain Abdullah Al-Jabri, Director of Security and Police in Seiyun District.
