Launch of the Community Engagement Training Program for Law Enforcement Officers and Community Committees in Ash Shihr District as Part of the "Tarabot" Project

This morning, Mr. Adel Baakabah, the General Director of Ash Shihr District, launched the training program for the "Tarabot" project aimed at enhancing community engagement for peace and security among law enforcement officers and community committees. He was accompanied by Colonel Saleh Mabrouk Al-Sabahi, Deputy Director of Security in Ash Shihr, and Engineer Ahmed Bamokhtar, Director of Planning for the district.
The program aims to train 20 participants from law enforcement officers and community committees in Ash Shihr, as part of efforts to enhance community involvement and support peace and security in the local community Supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) under the Small Grants Mechanism of the United Nations Peace Support Facility (PSF).
During the launch, Baakabah emphasized the importance of the project in strengthening the role of law enforcement officers and community committees as key pillars in conflict resolution and community peacebuilding. He noted that the project aims to enhance the capacities of participants and improve their skills in addressing security and social issues, contributing to stability and community peace.
It is worth mentioning that the "Tarabot" project is part of ongoing efforts to promote community engagement and support peace and security in the Hadramout and Al-Mahra governorates, targeting the training of 200 individuals from security leaders and community committees across five districts, including Mukalla, Ash Shihr, Sayun, Tarim, and Al-Ghaida.
